A stalwart group of nine
people, plus two dogs, left on schedule at 10:45 from the parking
lot across from Mountain Home Inn.
We took the Hogback to Matt
Davis to the Nora trail to West Point Inn. There after a short
break on the porch we continued up to the top of the mountain
minus two who went back down.
At the top we found Ted and
Sue missing from the Visitor's Center, bummer! The folks there
made us feel welcome and we ate our lunches just outside, under
the overhang and out of the rain.
The boys took off on their
own down the mountain and the remaining five of us went down
via Fern Creek. Half way down Fern Creek the trail was marked
closed. But we, having followed Daan over many "interesting"
trails, went down the Fern Creek trail anyway!
We arrived safely at the Bramells'
house where we enjoyed a great party.
